Today Jay Jay releases “Hallelujah”, the talented singer-songwriter from Cape Town’s second radio single to date. Hallelujah comes off the heels of Jay Jay’s debut single “Messiah King” which released in April 2019, having aired on 9 radio stations in South Africa, and currently sitting on over 2 million impacts.
Jay Jay was challenged by Grammy nominated singer-songwriter and Dove Award winner, Neville D to write a song based on Psalm 100, a Psalm for giving grateful praise. “ I envisioned what Africa would sound like if we collectively came before Jesus with thanksgiving, giving Him praise for all he has done and for all that He is,” says Jay Jay.
You are so worthy
Yes you are worthy Lord
And we praise you
Neville D produced “Hallelujah” as well as adds his renowned voice to Jay Jay’s beautifully penned song. The duo deliver a powerful upbeat radio friendly/congregational praise collaboration. “As a praise & worship leader for many years, you always look for that one song, that opening song that will gather the congregation and get them into one frame of mind. Hallelujah is that song! It’s a great way to start any gathering of the saints!” says, Neville D.
Psalm 100, says, “Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his, we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.”
